Terry Johnson is a seasoned visionary, social entrepreneur, and non-profit executive with 20-years of experience leading community-based initiatives and organizations focused on human resources and youth development in marginalized, disinvested, and resilient communities. This has been his life’s work since college. His body of work in the non-profit sector has included the development and integration of asset-building programs into several Texas Community Action Agencies, building a social enterprise start-up through a collaborative partnership with Citibank Global, and leading as Executive Director for

Communities In Schools of the Big Country in Abilene, TX and Open School, Inc. in Portland, OR. Terry is currently CEO for Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro Area (BGCP) where he is continuing to lead transformative youth development initiatives that are built upon strong organizational culture, strategic organizational design, and collaborative corporate partnerships. The mission of BGCP is to empower all young people to discover their full potential *especially those who need us most. BGCP operationalizes this mission around Life & Career Readiness as a core competency driven through 4 focus areas: STEAM, Sport & Play, Financial Empowerment and Career Exploration to equip young people as next generation leaders while advancing economic mobility. BGCP impacts over 8,000 youth, teens and families each year through 5 club locations operating across Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties.

Terry is married to his life partner CaSaundra and they have two kids (Kelyn – 12th grade and Kyndon – 10th grade) who are both deeply involved in all things school and basketball. When away from work – Terry loves to take nature walks, read autobiographies and leadership books, and curate music playlists.
